Don’t be an irregular Christian. Be a regular! That’s right make 2014 the year you get in the habit of Good News Church. This is by no means an attempt to guilt anyone into going to church. You know how I feel about guilt, “I’m a‘gin it”. I just want to encourage you to come more often because of the benefits inherent to being with your church family.
Hebrews 10:23-25 says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful, and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our assembling together, as is the practice of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as we see the day drawing near.” I have said many times from the podium, “you don’t have to go to church to be Christian, but if you want to grow and mature in your faith it is essential.” This passage from the book of Hebrews would seem to support that and encourage our “regular” assembly.
Regular worship, teaching, preaching and fellowship (with the church family) provides the strength and encouragement we need to be salt & light in our community. Being chronically irregular in worship makes it hard to have a well rounded experience. It’s like trying to complete a jigsaw puzzle with 1/3 of the pieces missing.
So… be a regular! Spend time with other Christians and grow in relationships and faith.
