In Mark 8:31 and again in 9:31 Jesus tells the disciples plainly that his destination is the Cross and Resurrection.

“The Son of Man is to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him; and when He has been killed, He will rise three days later.” (Mark 9:31)

Chapter 8 is a pivotal point in the gospel of Mark. Peter and the disciples come to the realization that Jesus is the Christ (Greek for Messiah). From that point on, Jesus, knowing the time is near, begins preparing the Disciples for His death, but also for His glorious Resurrection and departure into heaven. Jesus sets His face towards Jerusalem, the Cross and the Resurrection. Nothing will deter Him or derail Him from that goal; the Salvation of the World.

This series will conclude Easter morning with Mark’s account of the Resurrection. Easter morning will be a time of celebration, joy and fellowship. Our morning will begin with a Sunrise service at 7AM led by Joey and the youth, followed by Oscar’s doughnuts and coffee. We will also have services at 9 and 11AM. Pancakes and sausage breakfast will be served between services from 10:00 till 10:45.  Soooo…come at 9:00 and stay for food or come at 10ish and stay for the 11:00 service. There is no bad choice!

Enjoy this Easter season and the hope we all share in Christ!
