We are beginning our series on the Gospel of Mark. This will be a great learning experience as we look at the life of Jesus according to Mark.
The teaching will be primarily expository and verse by verse. The message of Mark’s gospel can be captured, to a large degree, in a single verse: “For even the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give His life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).
Mark is the shortest and most succinct of the four gospels. The main focus is on the dual message of Christ’s service and sacrifice. Jesus came to be a servant and a savior to a world in need of both. Mark’s Gospel is fast paced, moving from scene to scene. In it Jesus is preaching, teaching, serving, healing and helping others all as the Messiah sent to save.
There is much that we can learn from the Gospel of Mark as we study the words and actions of Jesus. After all, He is our teacher.
Come learn with us as we look at the life of Jesus according to Mark.
